About Minnesota Voices
Minnesota Voices is a storytelling initiative created to document, preserve, and honor the lived experiences of Minnesotans impacted by immigration enforcement.
This project is part of The Story Archive, a broader initiative dedicated to preserving human stories with care, dignity, and historical responsibility. Together, these efforts seek to ensure that lived experiences — especially in vulnerable and marginalized communities — are not lost, erased, or forgotten.
Important commitments:
- Personal data will never be shared or commercialized
- Stories are treated with care, dignity, and respect
- Our goal is community care, historical preservation, and public understanding
This project is not intended for private profit and operates on a cost-recovery basis. While we may publish collected stories or seek underwriting to cover hosting, preservation, and outreach costs, any revenue generated is reinvested directly into the project's archival mission—not distributed as private profit.
Story submissions are voluntary and not compensated.
Our hope is to eventually place Minnesota Voices under the stewardship of a trusted nonprofit organization or cultural institution aligned with this mission.
Minnesota Voices documents experiences without endorsing specific policy positions. Our role is to preserve testimony, not to lobby for outcomes.
At launch, Minnesota Voices is temporarily housed under Pounce, Inc., a for-profit business for legal, administrative, and technical reasons. This structure allows the project to exist quickly, safely, and sustainably while we actively explore long-term nonprofit and partnership options. Contributions to Minnesota Voices are not tax-deductible.
If you have recommendations, partnerships, or guidance, we warmly welcome your input.
